Mini Medicine Morning Camp for Ages 3-6

Join Havilah Brodhead, FNP, owner of Hearthside Medicine Family Care and mom of two little ones, for an educational, interactive, and fun morning learning about medicine!

Some of our many activities will include:

• Learning how the heart pumps blood (yes, we will make our own FAKE blood and pump it!)
• Identifying bones with hands-on games and Sally the Skeleton
• Splinting (pretend) broken bones and putting on casts (and coloring them!)
• Exploring heart sounds and heart rhythms with stethoscopes and EKG machines
• Making play-dough brains while learning how different parts of the brain work
• Looking in ears, eyes and mouths to understand how they work and why we need to protect them
• Moving with music and songs to help remember what are learning
• Weighing & measuring our baby dolls and stuffies to learn about weight, head circumference, and height and how good nutrition helps our bodies grow
• Making a mini-first aid kit

Cost:

$35/ one child

$60/two siblings

$75/three siblings

$25/child if Cottage Daycare/Preschool Student (with proof of enrollment)

Price includes:

Supervision and activities (adults are welcome to stay, but also welcome to leave with waiver signed)

White Lab coat (for each child to take home)

Mini-first aid kit (for each child to make and take home)

*Sliding scale available with proof of income

*Refunds with cancellation at least 48 hours prior as space is limited

(If the weather is looking good for the day, we will notify parents of change of location to the Mountain View Park nearby)

What to bring to camp:

1. Water bottle

2. Sunscreen/hat

3. Shoes for running/jumping

4. Change of clothes that can get dirty/stained (the fake blood is made from beat juice which may stain permanently)

5. Snacks if your child has allergies/restrictions

6. Inhalers if your child has asthma (for other medical needs, please get prior approval before registering)

7. Stuffed animal or baby doll (for putting on cast which will be removable)
